Martins wants red card upturned

Nigerian striker, Obafemi Martins is keeping his fingers crossed to see if the 71st minute card he got during his sides’s 2-0 win over Chivas on Sunday will be upturned.
Matins who was nonetheless excited by his great goal; the fourth in the season, described his red card as ‘stupid’
“Great goal! Stupid red. Maybe it will get overturned? Hoping it does...,”  Martins wrote on his twitter account.
According to an account by sounderratheart.com there will be long discussion about the Martins’ red card from referee Ricardo Salazar.
It read:  “In the 71st minute, Martins was entangled with a Goat, get pulled down and while both players were standing up the red was shown.
“It is currently listed in the unofficial stats as a red for “fighting” but that will not stand. There was some contact between a portion of Oba’s leg and the Chivas USA player’s head, but that occurred while they were falling down, in fact Martins was pulled down on top of the opposition.”

Martins is better famous for goals and rarely pops up as a candidate for red cards in any game.
